Do masks really help with seasonal allergies?
Yes, by reducing your exposure to airborne allergens like pollen and fine particles. The Nano Light forms a snug seal and uses a high-efficiency filter so you inhale significantly fewer particles during high-pollen days. (This is not a medical treatment; benefits depend on proper fit and use.)
What level of filtration does the Nano Light use?
Our filtration system is designed to meet FFP3+ (EU) and N100 (US) standards in laboratory tests, which means ≥ 99% efficiency at approximately 0.3 µm, the most difficult particle size to filter.
The multi-layer nano media also targets ultrafine particles down to approximately 0.05 µm (50 nm) under test conditions.
What does “stops super small particles” actually mean?
Beyond large allergens (pollen: ~10–100 µm), the filter captures sub-pollen particles and ultra-fine pollution, including PM2.5/PM1 and particles far below one micron. The seal is critical: a great filter + poor fit = poor real-world performance.
Will it fog my glasses?
The airflow path and fit are designed to minimize upward leaks, so users typically report little to no fogging once the straps and nose area are adjusted correctly.
Can I use it indoors (dusting, pet hair) as well as outside?
Yes. It helps reduce exposure to common indoor particulates (dust, dander) and outdoor allergens/pollution. For indoor air quality overall, combine with ventilation and room filtration.
Can I wash the mask and the filter?
- Mask/shell: hand-wash the textile shell (follow care label).
- Filter: do not wash: replace it. Moisture and detergents degrade filtration performance.
Is the filter breathable if it is so effective?
Yes. Nano-media is optimized to provide low breathing resistance relative to its filtration level. If you're having more difficulty breathing than usual, it may be time to replace the filter or readjust the fit.
How often should I replace the filter?
It depends on the usage time and local conditions. As a general rule, replace it when:
- respiratory resistance increases significantly,
- odors persist after ventilation, or
- you have reached your usual usage threshold (intensive daily urban use = more frequent replacements).
What size should I choose?
The Nano Light uses a one-size-fits-all adjustable design. Use the strap system and nose adjustments to create an even seal around your cheeks and chin. If you're between sizes, choose a snug fit rather than a loose fit.
Will this help reduce odors and fumes?
The filter stack includes an anti-gas/odor layer that helps reduce some unpleasant odors. Note: Gases and VOCs behave differently than particles; perceived odor reduction varies depending on the environment and user sensitivity.
